Not necessarily the biggest stories about advertising and Baby Boomers – but ones that intrigued me, that I believe will be influential.

Once again, Chuck demonstrates the power of multimedia in the blogosphere. He always has an interesting perspective -- of everything. This is a great overview of some of the Boomer-focused marketing and advertising highlights for a year many Boomers hope to never repeat.

Couldn't agree more with Brent and certainly honored to see my face up there.
Let's hope 2009 will bear better news for the world economy and advertising to babyboomers.

Terrific presentation, Chuck...you hit all the hot spots for '08 and as always, your thoughts about the future bear out. It will be interesting to see how Obama's election impacts what the media is hyping as "generational wars", esp. the attempted secession of Generation Jones from the leading-edge Boomers--who are taking the blame for everything that has gone wrong in our country. I find it interesting that at the exact moment Obama is calling for unity--and that racism is losing ground--ageism, in the form of some calling for deviciseness between the generations (esp. surround entitlements i.e. Social Security, Medicare) is on the rise. I think this will be a big theme this year, not only in politics, but in marketing: did you catch the Pepsi ad on the coronation of a new generation? Of course, I think our country (and marketers!) need to call upon the best out of all of us, esp. as you point out, the Boomers are not fading away--and, in fact, for many products and services are "the last consumer standing." Have a great year!
